You've probably heard the news about Substack recently. I won't go over it in detail, but basically Substack is hosting some undesirable people on the platform.
The publication Platformer, which has now moved to another platform called Ghost, made a great article about why Substack is at a crossroads a week or two ago which I highly suggest you to read: https://platformer.substack.com/p/why-substack-is-at-a-crossroads
As you can see, Substack clearly hasn't been doing well.
If you haven't been paying attention to our posts, we also haven't made a post here lately, mainly comes from my laziness to post longer form content at the moment. In fact, we haven't posted since Splatoween!
With all those factors in play, that's why we're leaving Substack. Our posts won't disappear from the platform, but we do not have any plans to move to another platform presently.
I mentioned Ghost earlier which seems promising, but it costs money to host a newsletter there. I've tried Buttondown for my other stuff as well, but the experience as someone using the free tier is a bit basic (see a 2am impression of my first thoughts at https://buttondown.email/ExperiencersInternational/archive/my-initial-experiences-with-buttondown/). GitHub Pages is probably where I'm going to host this sort of stuff in the future, even though I wish my stuff there looked better. I have no guarantees that Splatoon Unofficial stuff will appear there, but I've already started making some other stuff there. It does mean unfortunately that people aren't going to get updated for that sort of stuff in the future though.
If you want to keep enjoying Splatoon Unofficial, we have a fediverse account at @splatoon@wetdry.world. I'm also setting up a new one for Animal Crossing stuff at @crossing@wetdry.world (guess this is my first public announcement of it lol).
We also have a Matrix space at #splatoonunofficial:matrix.org and if you want to be updated with my other stuff, I have a room at #experiencersinternationalalerts:matrix.org.
Thank you for supporting.
